Handy little spark tester easy to use and having 2 plug sockets allows me to check and old spark plug against a new one side by side.
I am glad I finally got one of these. Check your spark plugs on the bench, with no pain. We had always just tried to check them on the motor. They usually wouldn’t sit where they would be grounded and you’d wind up holding them in place while you cranked and that would cause some intense pain when you became the ground too. But that would only tell you if they were sparking. With this you can not only know if their sparking but you can see how good the spark is and see how it acts at different rpms. Prove to yourself side gapping spark plugs actually works. I’m enjoying having this in the shop.
In the past doing my own mechanic work, if I even suspected a spark plug might be failing I would just simply replace it. I had no way of checking the spark plug itself with proper equipment. So when this little guy arrived I was quite excited. After doing some testing on various spark plugs, new and old, it performed beautifully. You can literally tell which plugs are becoming faulty and the machine is very accurate. Also love the fact that it can test not only the shorter plugs but the longer plugs as well. I would venture to say that this testing machine would not only work great in a DIY environment, but a professional mechanic’s environment as well.
That this device is really necessary in order to know the good condition of the engine plugs.
