Every time I have to replace the battery in one of our cars, I end up having to reprogram some stuff. My wife’s Mustang forgets almost everything; my SUV remember some things but not others. Makes no sense why everything isn’t stored in non-volatile memory, but it is what it is.
This solves the problem nicely. You do of course need a 12-volt battery or other power source to power this device (and ultimately, the car’s computers). I used a small 12-volt battery I had lying around that was supposed to be used in a UPS, but I ordered the wrong size. It would have been more expensive to return it, and I knew it would come in handy someday.
I don’t work on cars that much anymore, but this device makes it a lot more pleasant and in my opinion, it’s worth the money.
